marathon thoughts
The marathon is next week, as in a week from tomorrow. I will be starting a week from tomorrow at 7:15 am, once I actually cross the start line. A MARATHON! I NEVER would have thought I'd be doing a marathon. Seriously. Ask anyone I know! I am NOT running the whole thing. I am a proud walker. I walk and jog slowly - affectionately called slogging - slow jogging. Good, huh?
Here's my thoughts - I am nervous and excited but more nervous. I tried to train well, and I have been told that this training will make me successful. I didn't skimp and I didn't miss. I didn't get lazy! It's really a miracle, not in the Jesus sense, but more of an unbelievable sense. It's 26.2 miles. I will be out there for at least 6 hours, if not more, so if you've nothing to do, come on down and cheer us on! I'm hoping for good, cool weather! You can pray for that, too.
I am blessed to have this opportunity because I am healthy enough to be able to do an event of this magnitude. There are people who couldn't do this right now but would really want to, so I am blessed! Some of you will say I am crazy, but you'd be wrong. It's an amazing feeling to say that I am going to walk 10 miles tomorrow morning, which will add up to a total of 22 miles for this week. Next week I will walk a total of 35.2!! And, I am not sore, I'm not overly tired and I feel wonderfully healthy. Marathon people have really been hiding how great it is to be a marathoner! I will be an official marathoner in 8 days. BOO YA!

so...
yeah, i haven't posted in a while. school starts again this next week, and i cannot believe it is already here! i am not yet settled in with a lot of things and life just keeps coming at me! geesh.
the marathon is just around the corner! i am proud of myself for keeping up with training because sometimes it's hard to stick with it. i went the farthest i've ever walked this last weekend, 16 miles. this weekend is 10 or 12, and then it's Pints to Pasta (10k in Portland) and THEN 20! yikes. it makes me nervous, but it's a good nervous.
i am ready for sleep. it's been a long day. i am going to enjoy these last few days of freedom as best i can!
